“The Filipinos of Koloa," released on May 17, 2017, is the latest book by Catherine Pascual Lo.  The 8.5" x 11" 220-page book had its beginnings in 1985 in conjunction with the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the founding of Koloa Plantation.  Updated, it highlights the participation of the Filipinos at Koloa Plantation from 1910 to 1996, and it spotlights some of the achievements of the second and third generation Filipinos of Koloa.  The book also includes a history of Koloa Plantation, the eight major ethnic groups who made Koloa Plantation a success story, the plantation camps and life in plantation days.  Proceeds from sales benefit the Kaua`i Philippine Cultural Center -- "A Place for All" cultures, now under construction in Puhi across Kaua`i Community College.
